Grief isn’t always about death, it is about loss.
Loss of a loved one, loss of a marriage, loss of financial stability, loss of a friend, any loss that changes the way things use to be. Often people continue struggling, pushing away the hurt and other feelings associated with the loss, rather than allowing themselves to feel the emotions.
Questions such as ‘is this normal’ and ‘when will these feelings end’ are common. We can help you or a loved one that is experiencing grief navigate through all the emotions and questions. Sessions to address grief vary in the number of times we meet. You may meet one or two times with the counselor to help you better understand the feelings you are experiencing, or it may be for an extended number of sessions.
